Deity Offerings
It is common in our communities to leave "fairy offerings" after our Circles. These offerings consist not only of the first of the cakes and ale, but also the best of each dish from the simple feast which follows Circle.
There are times, however, when we want to honor the God/desses for a particular reason, be it for love, prosperity, fertility and creativity, or for safety of hearth and home. Each of these reasons have Goddess alignments particular to them. Below are some suggestions of offerings you can make for each alignment.
Gods of Hearth and Home
Food: bread and grains, salt and cooking oil
Drinks: milk, wine and cider
Herb: rosemary or thyme
Love and Passion Gods
Food: Apples, honey, and eggs
Drink: Wine and fruit juice
Herbs: Lavender and sandalwood
Prosperity and Abundance Gods.
Food: Dairy products and grains
Drinks: Milk and beer
Herbs: Mint, catnip, and pennyroyal
Nature and Garden Gods
Food: Bread, fruits, cornmeal
Drinks: Milk and water
Herbs: Bay
Fertility Goddess
Food: Eggs and baked sweets
Drink: Milk
Herbs: Rose, apple blossoms, and sandalwood
Ancestor Spirits
Food and Drink: Offer any food and drinks from your family's table
Herbs: sweet grass or sage
